My passion for anything behind the microphone began as a teen and my interests soon broadened towards singing and voice acting. I have completed two CDs- ‘checkered past’ & ‘poppy' while continuously recording songs that inspire me for my next compilation.
I studied voice, piano and theory at The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, as well as York University and Ryerson.
In 2007, after recording my renditions of Elton John songs leading to the donation of funds raised for Voiceprint Canada through sales, my singing was acknowledged and played on the highly respected eltonjohnworld.com worldwide fan website.
During 2008 I was given the prestigious 'IAAIS' (International Association of Information Services) award for Narration-Program of the year.
In 2009, I was awarded the 'Ontario Volunteer Service Award' for my Descriptive Video Narration for Voiceprint Canada providing narration for the blind and low vision audience.
As co-owner and voice artist for JDescribe, I truly love working in such a unique and crucial area of narration. My experience as a Descriptive Video narrator includes hundreds of films, television shows, and promos in both adult and children's genres such as animation. I am a commercial voice artist as well as an audiobook narrator and jingle singer.
JDescribe is a member of 'Described Video Best Practices' working group.
In 2013, I was granted the official trademark DNA allowing JDescribe the option of recording a Dual Narration Added track to the program. This unique approach to DV narration was developed as an optional form providing an alternative experience for our low-vision audience.
I am incredibly proud my voice has been heard in countless films, television programs, mini-series, documentaries and promos. As a commercial voice artist I've worked with and recorded for stations such as Citytv, MTV, The Food Network, YTV, CBC, The Comedy Network, Star TV, Space, Showcase, Bravo and The Discovery Channel.
